In 2007, Laufer Aviation merged with GHI, combining the experience and expertise of two outstanding companies to provide a full, in-house range of services to airlines, passengers and executive flights and travelers.
Laufer Aviation-GHI is a longstanding member of the IATA Ground Handling Council (IGHC), and a founding member of the first ground handling alliance, AVIANCE.
Where It All Began In 1975, Mr. Menachem Laufer established Laufer Aviation, the first ground handling company in Israel. In its first year, Laufer Aviation’s workforce of seven served 200 flights. During the three ensuing decades, Laufer Aviation grew from a small, proud, family business to a leading enterprise renowned in the industry for its professionalism and quality. GHI was founded in 1996 as a joint venture between GlobeGround International (at that time owned by Lufthansa Airlines), a leading international ground handling company, and MAMAN Group, the leading suppliers of cargo handling, logistic and aviation services in Israel. GHI has consistently provided superior ground handling services, renowned for the high standards and quality already established by GlobeGround, in addition to exclusive cargo ramp services and cargo documentation with guaranteed reliability, making the company a recognized leader in the field.
Soaring to New Heights Together, Laufer Aviation-GHI is a formidable presence at Israel’s airports – a fully independent company of 700 staff members, providing licensed services entirely in-house, including the full range of passenger services, operations center, ramp supervision, baggage tracing, cargo administration, technical ground support, ticketing services and VIP services for scheduled, charter, cargo and executive flights. Laufer Aviation-GHI has over 70 customer airlines and is the contractor to the US Air Force in Israel, handling all flights including those of the U.S. President.
